OK, we all want to lose weight so here are some quick weight loss tips for losing that weight fast but in a healthy way to keep your body right.

If you are overweight and are thinking of changing the way you eat or your lifestyle in any way you should speak to your doctor first before you try any of our quick weight loss tips just to ensure it’s right to do so for your lifestyle.

Why you are over weight

For most people and that includes me we all know why we are over weight and generally it has nothing to do with under active thyroid glands but more to do with what we put into our mouths and the amount of exercise we are doing – or lack of it.

If you are over weight and feel tired then it’s all to do with the calories you take and the type of food you are eating. For most people it’s not wise to suddenly cut down from your current eating habits and effectively starve yourself or go onto one of those fad diets because although you may see fast results the changes are not for the long term.

So in general you’ll need a lifestyle change and the quick weight loss tips might not be so quick as your body adjusts to what you are about to do. But here they are:

Weight loss tips

1) Cut out all the unhealthy stuff like cream, burgers, chips andĀ fries – we all know that but are all guilty of it. It’s the fat content but also the calorie content that’s the nasty bit. If you still want snacks on the go they look up some of the recipe sites to find a healthy alternative. Watch out for all those “no fat” “low in fat” alternatives because generally they are sugar ladened and that’s almost as bad

2) Replace with healthy natural alternatives. OK we *do* need fats in our diets but it’s a balancing act. If your diet just consisted of burgers then you will put on weight but if you balance the burger with a lower intake of other yummy foods such as vegetables and fruits then all is fine.

3) Go for the five a day – yes that’s five portions of fruit and veg a day. A glass of real juice (not “juice drink) counts as one portion. Then have an apple or banana and that’s 3. Have 2 portions of vegetables with your meals and your done.

4) Drink water. Water fills you up and makes hunger pangs go away for a while. If you are hungry then drink water or juice.

5) Avoid sugar drinks – OK it’s easy to whip a can of coke from the fridge because it’s cold and gives us an energy boost but that’s 150 calories right there. If you have 2 or 3 cans per day it can really pile up the calories and weight. Just cutting these back will save you a lot.

6) Do more exericise – if you’re like me you don’t want to go down the gym and work out as it’s so boring but there are things to do to start to burn off some of the calories you are taking in. Walking up and down stairs instead of taking the elevator is a good one. Taking a 30 minute walk around the neigborhood 3 times a week is another. If you have children take them for walks or go down the swimming pool. Really just anything rather than sitting watching TV every night :)
