Ingredients

First off this is a step-by-step guide for ground turkey burger recipes which is easy to obtain from butchers or your local market or store. It has to be ground to make it easy to make into the burger itself but also adds in moisture because it contains white breast meat as well as the dark meat. If you only want breast meat you’ll need to add in moisture which can be undertaken with eggs. The recipe below shows you how.

Main ingredients required

This recipe makes 4 turkey burgers. Turkey can be a bland meat so if there’s any seasoning or spices you like add them to the ingredients list below.

Recipe

turkey-burgersMix all of the ingredients above in a bowl with your hands. Make sure everything is mixed together properly and make 4 burgers from the resulting mix. Because there is hardly any fat content you can cook them how you want – either fry in light oil, grill in the oven or on the BBQ or simply bake in the oven.

For grilling you’ll need to leave them about six minutes each side. For turkey and chicken these can not be eaten raw and you’ll need to ensure that the burgers are cooked all the way through (that there is a white coloring in the middle). Raw chicken or turkey can give you food poisoning so you need to be very careful.

Burger Toppings

Much like hamburgers you can choose all the normal toppings to go with this recipe from raw onion, lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms etc and add ketchup or mayo. To spice things up a little why not use worcestershire sauce or paprika. You can have the burgers on their own or in a bun. Just grill the buns beforehand or pop them in the toaster to crisp them up a little just like the restaurants do.
