Garden Home Decor for Decorating Home Gardens

When it comes to your garden you should try and treat it just like another room in your home so you can use it during the dry summer months – here are some decoration tips you could use.

Getting the right garden home decor for your outside space is easy if you know the type of items you can add to make it a space you can admire from indoors and when you entertain outside when you have friends and family to a bbq for example. Here are some ideas.

Birdfeeders and bird baths.

If you add nuts and fat to a standard bird feeder you’ll notice after a time that birds will understand that they can feed from this. Just ensure you don’t already have cats otherwise it’s like a “red rag to a bull”. Having a bird bath and keeping it full up with water will allow birds to come and drink as well as wash themselves.

Outdoor lighting

If you have outdoor lights that you want like indoor lights then you should seek the advice of a qualified electrician for the work. It’s not going to cost the earth but it is welll worth the expense in the end.

Garden ornaments and statues

OK not everyone wants a statue in their garden but it might work and be a focal point and certainly get everyone talking. Many people pick smaller items such as cherubs and you can have them made out of brass or even bronze. Other statues include dogs, frogs, greek statues, horses, lions, roman style and even religious ones.

Fountains and ponds

The sound of water from a fountain trickling down a waterfall into a pond is a great sound and generally makes people relaxed but installing one is no mean feat. You’ll need to dig out an area for a pond and get external electricity to power the pump that moves the water around. If you are thinking of installing a pond try not to put in under any trees because the pond needs sunlight and also the leaves that fall off the trees decompose into the bottom of the pond and makes cleaning more work.

You can have fish in a pond but beware if you have small children or pets because they could fall into it quite easily.

Other outdoor decor

There are many other items you can add to your garden including sundials, weather watchers, stepping stones to mark a path through grass, landscape edging (to mark between your flower beds and grass areas), screening and mirrors (to make the garden space look a little larger), benches to sit on and relax and other items to encourage wildlife into your garden. You can even get topiary frames to encourage a box hedge into all kinds of shapes if you are good with your “green fingers”
