How to Become a Forensic Scientist

The job entails being completely unbiased so you’ll need to understand the facts and evidence that you find and help others understand how this has been linked to any suspects or other places.

There is a lot of detail involved especially at crime scenes where the evidence is gathered so you’ll need to have patience in the collection of samples and be able to write detailed reports of any findings you discover.

As a forensic scientist you’ll also most likely need to present your findings in a court room so confidence of public speaking and cross examination will be qualities to possess.

The AAFS is the organization that represents the interests of qualified forensic scientists in their work and there are many types including toxicology, anthropology, pathology, criminalistics and biology.
